Golden Ticket

Finally, I have finished my parents golden wedding anniversary invitations. It's taken me a while, as there are so many. They are all heat embossed with gold, I've used the Ex Libris stamp and cut out the outer frame (i have plans for the cut out) and the Papillion Potpourri set all on very vanilla cardstock.
I hope my parents like them, along with the recipients.

Just a quicky this morning. I made a card for my son's friends birthday.  Not quite navy cardstock, festive and newsprint papers in banner form. All Inked up ready for the party tomorrow!

Petite Picnic

I must be mad! I have been dreaming about this for a long time - I flipped the Petite Purse upside down and and was dreaming how I was going to make it into a picnic basket.  It is a bit 'out of the box' but that's what I like to do and I think it worked well.

Here's how I did it.

You need 2 Petite Purses cut out from Crumbcake Cardstock.  Emboss one of the purses with the square lattice Embossing Folder (you do need to run it through twice to fit the whole purse).  I used a dauber and some chocolate chip ink to add some dimension and texture.  Now cut down the rounded edge from the side and cut apart the part that would be normally the bottom to make the lid.  Score what would have been the top at 1 inch from the edge to make a crisp edge and glue the lid to the inside.

I made reinforcing strips with a 1/4 inch strips and little dots like little nails that you would find on real baskets using chocolate chip stampin write markers and then daubered the whole thing to add some distress.  I made the closure using some twine to tie a little piece of toothpick that I cut (like a toggle). Then I used the mini brads to add the handles.

The top of the basket was also covered with strips of 1/4 inch on top and then daubered again.

Bags of thanks

Look at these little bags, aren't the cute? Can you guess what they are? I love finding other uses for things. These are cut from the holiday collection framelets. The mug framelet, cut on the fold, make adorable bags or suitcases.
I have made these as a commission so inside there's a chocolate mint, perfect for hen nights or showers.

Busy bunny

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been busy with demonstrations, workshops, classes, kids parties and stuff. I hadn't even noticed that I've not been blogging! Instead of me babbling away, here are some pics of my recent makes.

If you've seen some of them before, I'm sorry but it seems that long I can't remember!

Sending Sympathy

Today I made one of those cards that I don't think any of us enjoy, a sympathy card. Knowing the recipient likes butterflies I used that as the basis of the card. Simple sentiments both inside and out from the Love And Sympathy Stamp Set.

There is no need to over do a card of this nature, it's just to let them know that they are in your thoughts and sending them strength. Too many embellishments and stamping can make the card too busy, all you need is a simple note to say you care.

I used the beautiful wings embosslits folder to cut the butterflies in the same shade of pinks as the matting on the card and added a few pearls to the boodies. A little, subtle distressing on the edges just defines the card.

I don't usually decorate the inside of the cards I make but this just set it. The frames are from the Labels Collection Framelits, again to tie it in with the front of the card a couple more butterflies and  pearls.

I hope that the recipient takes some comfort from the card.

Not forgotten birthday

It's my teenage niece's birthday next week and I tried not to forget, it's my sons birthday on Thursday, I am helping at school with a card club for the kids on the same day and we are going on holiday on Friday. So, a full week with other bits going on too!

I'm not sure on how to do cards for teenagers so did a bit of research and this is what I came up with.

Glittery Christmas

While I am sorting out my photos from my Team Stampin Day from yesterday, I wanted to share with you a card I made this morning.

Sometimes I just get these ideas of cards pop into my head, sometimes they work and sometimes they dont! This mornings one did, I think, well hubby likes it and he's my thumbs up or down guy!

Twitterpated wash bag

Hi, while on my daily rummaged in my local charity shop I came across a wash bag that was shouting at me to do something with it! So off to the till I went and took it home.

I had a scrap of twitterpated fabric left from another project in just the right colours. I didn't have time to sew so out came my glue gun (such a wise investment!) And off I went. Granted it would look a lot better with the fabric sewn on and note to self, next time I will.

A few fabric roses and a couple of bright buttons finished off my project.

Scientific Explosions!

Phew! In between cooking a very large dinner for tonights celebration of Rosh Hashana, I've managed to finish off my sons party invites.

With Whisper white cardstock as a base, I used a scientific stencil in my big shot to emboss the background. Again, using the stencil I cut test tubes, beakers and flasks in pool party, wisteria wonder, cherry cobbler, daffodil delight, pretty in pink, lucky limeade scraps and stuck to the base card. For the bubbles I used the sprinkles stamp from create a cupcake set (available from October 1st) and the smoke from seasonal scentations (available in the autumn winter catalogue out now!) In baja breeze and crumb cake inks.

Apple and honey.

A quick post as I have lots of prep for tomorrow's meal of Rosh Hashana (Jewish New Year). I made a few cards to give to my family at dinner.
Thank goodness for my scrap box! My written Hebrew is not so good but at least is readable!

Kindness Matters

Today I have been playing with a set from the new 2012-2013 Annual Catalogue that goes live from 1st October. This set is called kindness matters and I simply love it. Tiny  half doilie,  flourish, sentiments and the butterflies are stunning. I thoroughly recommend saving. Your pennies for this one, I can see me using it a lot.

These little gems are for an upcoming stampin day with fellow demonstrators held by my upliner bekka. We have a fun day full of stamping, chatting and swapping. I hope they like mine and I can't wait to see what others have to swap, its like getting little presents and I get so excited!

Sharing the love!

Good morning all, I am very excited today. I was called into Hobbycraft in Stevenage because they would like me to do some demonstrations and classes for them. So this morning I had a meeting with a very lovely lady. We talked about my love of card making, rubber stamping and paper crafts in general, my availability, themes and all sorts. I have come out feeling very fuzzy!

So, the news today is that on 6th October at around 11:30 I will be demonstrating some amazing projects. The first of many, watch this space for more dates and events! Eeeeek!

Early Bird or Night Owl?

Today, two cards that I made for my sons friends birthday. They are having a joint pool party this evening, yes, I always seem to leave it til the last minute to make the cards!

I didn't know what to do for the cards but got inspiration from the gift bags that I put their gifts in.
