Pretty Useful Things

I’ve been thinking about  the way I organise my bag for classes, one of the things I have is a plastic box filled with “tools” , so I don’t have to rummage through my craft cupboard every time I run a class or  workshop. It's full of my growing collection of paper snips, assorted glues, tweezers for those tiny rhinestones and pearls.

I always take a bunch of small rulers. Originally I raided my kids craft cupboard and ended up with Liverpool, Ben Ten, Barbie and Hello Kitty ones!  Although they always put a smile on the ladies faces I wanted to find something more professional.

I recently found some cheap, clear 6" rulers in Wilkinsons (12p each!!!). So I bought a whole load and decided that I was going to decorate them in current Designer Series Papers. Using Crystal Effects  as an adhesive, because it dries clear.  I attached Designer Series Paper to the back of each ruler. and waited for it to dry, which does take a while. After it had set, I trimmed off any excess paper and they were ready to go! Fab rulers, that still work perfectly! Here they are:

AMOUR

Today I made a very special card for my wedding anniversary next week.

I edged the card with gold embossing powder and embossed gold keys from artistic etchings.

Die cut butterflies from vellum have been embossed with one of the exclusive hostess stamp set sayings, topped with a crown from artistic etchings and a heart punched from glimmer paper.

Finally, I embossed "AMOUR" from artistic etchings with black embossing powder, making sure I didn't brush off the excess as I loved the look of splatted ink around the wording.

I hope my husband likes this, he hasn't got the same taste as me, at least it will sit on the mantelpiece and I can appreciate it!

Congratulations

Hello everyone.

A quick card using the free sale-a-bration papers. A simple stamped greeting on this means that it can be adapted for any occasion, The ribbon is secured by wrapping the legs of the brad around it, so no knots or bows.
This is one of my favourite papers at the moment, I will be sad to see it go, it's only available until the end of March so get it now, if you can!

Team Social Stampin Day

On Saturday we had our first Team Social Stampin Day. It was a day full of swapping, stamping, creating and catching up with old friends and new. It was a wonderful day and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Over the next few days I will post some of the masterpieces that we created, all designed by my upliner, Bekka.

But first I want to show you a few pictures of the day itself.

We were all very eager to get our swaps together and start mingling after our promotion freebies and mentions.

Wish I took a picture of the whole goodie bag and it's contents but this one is so amazing that I forgot. It contains a pack of rhinestones and some Denim ribbon all wrapped in a cello bag decorated with some Sale-A-Bration papers, ruffled ribbon and a greeting. Then I noticed the Simply Adorned Charm (available in the spring mini catalogue)  under the bow! It was so cute that I used the ribbon and wore it as a necklace for the rest of the day!

A few of the girls working hard using Bekkas tutorial sheets, I always keep these for reference for future projects.

Our swaps on a friendship theme.

The first project of the day was to make our name lanyards, a top note die cut, a few blooms and butterflies finished off with rhinestones. I adore this and will be using the idea in the future.

If you would like to join one of these days then find out more about becoming a demonstrator by contacting me on inkyfingerswithjenie@gmail.com.
