Golden Ticket

Finally, I have finished my parents golden wedding anniversary invitations. It's taken me a while, as there are so many. They are all heat embossed with gold, I've used the Ex Libris stamp and cut out the outer frame (i have plans for the cut out) and the Papillion Potpourri set all on very vanilla cardstock.
I hope my parents like them, along with the recipients.

Just a quicky this morning. I made a card for my son's friends birthday.  Not quite navy cardstock, festive and newsprint papers in banner form. All Inked up ready for the party tomorrow!

Petite Picnic

I must be mad! I have been dreaming about this for a long time - I flipped the Petite Purse upside down and and was dreaming how I was going to make it into a picnic basket.  It is a bit 'out of the box' but that's what I like to do and I think it worked well.

Here's how I did it.

You need 2 Petite Purses cut out from Crumbcake Cardstock.  Emboss one of the purses with the square lattice Embossing Folder (you do need to run it through twice to fit the whole purse).  I used a dauber and some chocolate chip ink to add some dimension and texture.  Now cut down the rounded edge from the side and cut apart the part that would be normally the bottom to make the lid.  Score what would have been the top at 1 inch from the edge to make a crisp edge and glue the lid to the inside.

I made reinforcing strips with a 1/4 inch strips and little dots like little nails that you would find on real baskets using chocolate chip stampin write markers and then daubered the whole thing to add some distress.  I made the closure using some twine to tie a little piece of toothpick that I cut (like a toggle). Then I used the mini brads to add the handles.

The top of the basket was also covered with strips of 1/4 inch on top and then daubered again.

Happy Craftin'
