Door Prize covered book.

Afternoon my lovelies! I have time for a quick post before I go get the kids from school.

I had an unused set of simply scrappin tickets and tags and wanted to show if off in my workshop tonight. I thought what a better way than to make a door prize from it.

Very simply I covered a notebook with the textured cardstock and co-ordinating Designer Paper.

Very simple but I think very stylish.

I hope whoever gets this door prize tonight likes it!

Surprise box

Hi everyone! Hope the sun is shining for you today, it is here but not sure for how long!

This morning, before the troops woke up, argued and wrecked the house I had some time to play. I came across this box and it was so cute I had to give it a go.

It is really very simple using the simply scored board by stampin up and only uses one sheet of cardstock. No fiddly bits, just a few score lines, a few snips  here and there, some sticky strip and your done. All you're left with is to decorate it with your favourite designer series papers and a punch or two.

Upcycling Beautiful Butterflies

Yesterday I stumbled across upcycling old t shirts on the internet. Some of the ideas were so fantastic I just had to give it a go.
Armed with two old shirts, my machine and some elastic I set to work cutting and sewing.
My daughter asked for something with butterflies, I had no idea what I was doing let alone putting any decoration on it! Then I remembered my beautiful butterflies die, perfect as it cuts material wonderfully.
After making a top and skirt I machined on the butterflies and antenna.
Sorry but I am very proud seeing I haven't made any sort of clothing, only nick nacks. Hope you like it to, my daughter does and that suits me down to the ground.
Why don't you dust off your machine and give something a new lease of life with some stampin up dies! Happy sewing XXX.

No sew fabric roses

I found myself with idle fingers tonight! Not knowing what to do I turfed out my spice cake and twitterpated fabrics. Didn't fancy getting out my machine again today, I was playing with some coffee cozies earlier.

I want to decorate a navey sun hat that I found, I'm not a hat wearer but need to on these hot sunny days. Now, I do like this hat but there is a problem, it has ENGLAND embroidered on the front. Seeing an opportunity to cover it up, I set about thinking how? Flowers! So, without hesitation I got my glue, ripped up some designer fabric and set to rolling, twisting and sticking. I'm not finished yet, I will need far more. I will post pics of the finished hat soon. Meanwhile, here are some of the flowers I have made and one of the coffee cozies I was playing with.

Stampin Up does homework fun!

Yes, I said homework and fun in the same sentence!

I just had to share the with you.  My kids have to build a bug  from recycled materials for their school fete this week. My daugher had her heart set on butterflies flying. Together we came up with idea of using the Beautiful Butterflies die to cut butterflies from plastic bottles (cleaned out first of course!)

Once cut she then coloured them using permenent markers. She then asked me to stick them onto a dried up stick from the garden, I used a hot glue gun for this.

I was surprised at the end result.

I mustn't forget  my sons' handy work, he built a ladybird from an old computer mouse.
