Early Bird or Night Owl?

Today, two cards that I made for my sons friends birthday. They are having a joint pool party this evening, yes, I always seem to leave it til the last minute to make the cards!

I didn't know what to do for the cards but got inspiration from the gift bags that I put their gifts in.

Vintage Bracelets

It's no secret that I love the  vintage, lace, ribbon, worn distressed look with a bit of bling! Well, while rummaging around some of my old jewellery I found some vintage pieces from broken necklaces and bracelets, some of them were probably from something that one of my nans gave me as a child.

I wanted to do something with them but not to alter them too much so you could still see the original beauty of what they were.

Using my Very Vanilla and Crochet Ribbons and a few others from Stampin' Up! I set about making some bracelets. Very simple and easy to make with a few of my old jewellery making tools from many moons ago.

I love their simplicity but old look, hope that you like them too.

I love the way that the turquoise stones match the pool party ribbon on this one.

Nothing compares!

I have been staying at my parents this week, a change of scenery for the kids before they go back to school. Now I always bring some bits to play with no matter where I go, just incase I find a few spare minutes.
I brought a few bits from the new autumn winter catalogue bit when I got here I found that I had no whisper white or very vanilla cardstock! Well, it caused me no end of heartache looking for a suitable alternative because nothing I found would stamp as nice and clean. So, although in the beginning I wondered what all the Ho ha was with stampin up cardstock, now I know, if you want a crisp clean image there is no comparision! You will see the quality in some of these cards that I made yesterday, they aren't quite up to scratch.

Sorry about the quality of the photos! They are downloaded from my phone and it has decided to play up on me!

Welcome Christmas

I'm in the Christmas card making mode, maybe it's because the Autumn Winter Catalogue is just around the corner. It's filled with yummy new products and I can't wait to share them with you.

That in mind I have been making Christmas cards with some of our existing products.

This card is made with one of my favourite sets, Welcome Christmas.

I used the eyelet border punch to make berries for the wreath and dabbed a little dot of crystal effects on each berry to add definition using a cocktail stick.

It was very hard not to vintage the card up but I wanted to keep it quite simple and clean. Hope you like the end result.

Minnie mouse

Hi, happy bank holiday weekend, hope that you have a wonderful time what ever you are up to.

Today I want to share a card I made for my Disney mad friend, I missed her birthday so its a bit of a belated one.

So simple to make with some basic black card, dsp, a few punches and a simple greeting. Sometimes it's nice to get back to basics and make a simple but effective card. I sure hope she likes it.
