Rule Britannia

Playing with the Britannia theme from an earlier post, I was inspired to make another. I love the antique look of this card which was easily achieved with crumb cake ink and a dauber. It's also a bit of a sneak peak of something that is from the new Summer Mini Catalogue that is available from 1st May.

Name badges

I am going to a Stampin' Up! Regional training event on Saturday, there's numerous things we have to prepare before we go. One of them is to make our own personalized name badges. I had several ideas in my head but couldn't decide if they would work, so the only way to see was to make all of them!

I'm not too keen on the red and blue one but now have one dilema, which one of the other two do I take?

Keep Calm

A very quick post tonight,  just wanted to share a quick card i tried out. Using craft whisper white ink and clear embossing powder on real red cardstock.

Stamp sets used were Artisic Etchings and Clearly for You.

A Barrel of Apples

I love making & creating, I dabble with a bit of everything. This time I had an urge for apples. I stumbled on the idea of little 3D apples with a stamped centre. I used one of the stamps from the Fruit and Flowers set from the Spring Mini Catalogue (hurry if you want to order from this because it ends on 30th April.)

A mini tag was made with the eyelet border punch and a stamped heart from the Create A Cupcake stamp set (also from the mini catalogue), I attached it to the apple with some bakers twine and a mini safety pin.

To finish them off I made an apple barrel to pop them all in

Stamped Dolly Pegs

Morning everyone, hope you are enjoying the lovely unseasonal weather, it causes me problems as I never know what to wear!!!

Today I'm showing you a project that I just can't get enough of at the moment, stamped dolly pegs. I came across these on the internet and had to have a go, they are very simple. All you need is the pegs, stazon ink and your chosen stamps.

The last two sets are stamped with the Clearly For You set, which I adore, only thing is that I lost the mini butterfly from the set and I am devistated!

Designer Touch

Add a touch of Designer Shabby Chic to your cards. I made this card for a very dear friends birthday.

Now, this may look look a long recipe but it doesn't take that long at all. In fact, I dislike making cards that take a long time to make, I am more of a 'whip one up' type of girl!

I embossed some Pretty in Pink cardstock with the oval Designer Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder ( theres two in a pack, one rectangle one oval - great value for money!).
Cut around the outside of the frame and just touched up the embossed part with Craft white with a dauber, just to pick up the detail and to give a bit of a white washed feel.
I punched a strip of First Edition Speciality paper with the Eyelet Border Punch, what I call 'zig zag fold' the whole length and stuck this behind the frame flattening it at the back to enable me to stick it to the card of Pretty in Pink that I had stamped a background of fresh vintage flowers (part of the sale-a-bration free sets) in Pretty in Pink ink.
The edges were aged with Rose Red and the border punched ruffles with Early Esspresso.
I embossed an oval with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and picked up the detail by rubbing over some Chocolate Chip ink with a dauber.
The whole card was finished off with a base card of Chocolate Chip, a strip of the same colour cardstock, a length of crochet trim and an antique brad.
Any colour combination would work with this card, just depends on your taste and what look you are after, I'm in the mood for a grey and yellow version so now I am off to see if that idea works!

Love and Sympathy

Not my favourite cards to make, however, we all have to make them sometime or the other. It really shows that you care when you give or send a hand made card.

Sadly I had to make a card as my Great Uncle passed away. I wanted to let them know that in their time of deep sorry, family was behind them and sending them strength and love.

A very simple design but I didn't want to complicate things. I coloured the stamp with stamp and write markers in baja breeze and old olive onto very vanilla cardstock, over stamped the verse ( which has beautiful wording - the reason why I chose this set). Matted the stamped image onto old olive then layered onto a base card of baja breeze.

 Three little rhinestones in the corner finish it of nicely.
