Sending Sympathy

Today I made one of those cards that I don't think any of us enjoy, a sympathy card. Knowing the recipient likes butterflies I used that as the basis of the card. Simple sentiments both inside and out from the Love And Sympathy Stamp Set.

There is no need to over do a card of this nature, it's just to let them know that they are in your thoughts and sending them strength. Too many embellishments and stamping can make the card too busy, all you need is a simple note to say you care.

I used the beautiful wings embosslits folder to cut the butterflies in the same shade of pinks as the matting on the card and added a few pearls to the boodies. A little, subtle distressing on the edges just defines the card.

I don't usually decorate the inside of the cards I make but this just set it. The frames are from the Labels Collection Framelits, again to tie it in with the front of the card a couple more butterflies and  pearls.

I hope that the recipient takes some comfort from the card.

Not forgotten birthday

It's my teenage niece's birthday next week and I tried not to forget, it's my sons birthday on Thursday, I am helping at school with a card club for the kids on the same day and we are going on holiday on Friday. So, a full week with other bits going on too!

I'm not sure on how to do cards for teenagers so did a bit of research and this is what I came up with.

Glittery Christmas

While I am sorting out my photos from my Team Stampin Day from yesterday, I wanted to share with you a card I made this morning.

Sometimes I just get these ideas of cards pop into my head, sometimes they work and sometimes they dont! This mornings one did, I think, well hubby likes it and he's my thumbs up or down guy!

Twitterpated wash bag

Hi, while on my daily rummaged in my local charity shop I came across a wash bag that was shouting at me to do something with it! So off to the till I went and took it home.

I had a scrap of twitterpated fabric left from another project in just the right colours. I didn't have time to sew so out came my glue gun (such a wise investment!) And off I went. Granted it would look a lot better with the fabric sewn on and note to self, next time I will.

A few fabric roses and a couple of bright buttons finished off my project.

Scientific Explosions!

Phew! In between cooking a very large dinner for tonights celebration of Rosh Hashana, I've managed to finish off my sons party invites.

With Whisper white cardstock as a base, I used a scientific stencil in my big shot to emboss the background. Again, using the stencil I cut test tubes, beakers and flasks in pool party, wisteria wonder, cherry cobbler, daffodil delight, pretty in pink, lucky limeade scraps and stuck to the base card. For the bubbles I used the sprinkles stamp from create a cupcake set (available from October 1st) and the smoke from seasonal scentations (available in the autumn winter catalogue out now!) In baja breeze and crumb cake inks.
