Don't throw away your left overs!

I don't know about you but I always have left overs from card sessions, extra stamped images, odds and ends of ribbon, die cuts and unwanted punches!
This evening I decided to try and create some cards just from a box of scraps and leftovers all with a thank you theme. The colours are just left from prepping for a workshop last night, all the unwanted bits after changing my mind so many times on my demonstration.
So here are the cards that I came up with:

Stampin Up quick cards
scribbles die, chocolate chip  & baja breeze cardstock, butterfly embossilts, just believe stamp set, i heart hearts stamp set, designer labels punch, build a bird punch.

Embosslits butterflies, scribbles die, decorative label punch, baja breeze cardstock

vanilla satin ribbon, bird punch, scribbles die, baja breeze cardstock

Just Believe, chocolate chip

I Heart Hearts, decorative label punch, chocolate chip satin ribbon, rhinestones

negative of scribbles die, butterfly embosslits, vanilla satin ribbon

I think this is my favourite, it's a Chocolate Chip negative of the scribbles die matted onto some Baja Breeze cardstock, a few embosslits butterflies dotted around, a rhinestone and a sentiment. I am absolutely addicted to making ribbon roses at the moment, they seem to appear on so many of my recent cards. I love the colour scheme of this card too, for some reason it looks so much more striking than the others, even though they are all using the same left overs!

So, ladies and gentlemen, don't throw away your left overs, you never know what you can create with them.

Fresh and Clean!

I have been worrying about what type of Fathers Day cards to make for the men in my life. One into computers and programming and the other into woodwork and power tools! Not being able to find anything I like on these subjects so after countless hours of searching for ideas I gave up! I decided that I would just show them the love I have for them and try and put it onto a card. They both like clean cut and fresh cards, not my usual vintage distressed look, so I came up with this:

Off to the post office now, hope they like them.

one to go please!

Just a quick take away today! A Coffee to go with an insert to write your message on.

Card Recipe:
Cup is 4" x 9", folded in half to be 4.5" tall x 4" wide in Crumb Cake. After it's folded, cut the two sides in, starting about 1/2" from each side on the bottom and angling out to the top corners. Glue the two sides together just along the edges to make a pocket.

The inside of the cup slides open to reveal a message, or place to write one. This piece is about 3" wide by 5" tall,  the sides angled like the main cup in .. about a half inch from each side from the bottom. To make the lid, I used a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, 1" tall x 4 1/4" wide. I rounded the top two corners to look like a  lid and scored a line along the centre.

For the wrap, I used a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock that was 2" tall by 4" wide and ran it through a paper crimper. A piece of polka-dotted ribbon in Baja Breeze added a splash of colour. I stamped a cup from the set Tea Shoppe, in the Summer Mini Catalogue, in Baja Breeze to compliment the ribbon on a circle of Very Vanilla layered onto a piece of Soft Suede Designer Label.

Well, I hope you like it!
Happy Crafting

Artistic ATC's

For some time now I've been wanting to create some ATC's but there is so Mich inspiration and information out there, I just didn't know where to start! Then someone gave me some great advice, treat them like mini cards.
Armed with a few supplies I set about making my mini creations.

ATC recipe:
Naturals Ivory cardstock
Rich Razzleberry Basic Black & Baja Breeze inks
First Edition Speciality Papers
Artistic Etchings Stamp Set
Champagne Mist ( a few drops made into a spritz with alcohol in a small spray bottle, I use vodka as a base liquid as there is no odour and it dries super fast!)
